I am going to tell you some thoughts I have about the fulfillment of some end times prophecies. But even though I think what I am going to tell you is consistent with what God has shown us, told us, and inspired me to say, do not take this as a prophecy. I cannot claim to have received a direct word from the Lord, so pray about these ideas yourself for understanding.
Jesus said, “Immediately after the distress of those days ” ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
“And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31)
“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
“We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
“According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)
“Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.
“After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.
“He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. ” (Daniel 9:25-27)
Although I have been reading the Bible for nearly 70 years, I am not a biblical scholar, what I have learned from some who are Biblical scholars is that Daniel’s prophecy of seven ‘sevens’ and sixty-two ‘sevens’ has already been fulfilled long ago. Each “seven” means seven years. And these were fulfilled in the rebuilding of the temple and it’s later destruction by the Romans. The remaining “seven”, seven years, are yet to be fulfilled.
The current understanding from all the prophecies in the Bible is that the antichrist will assume global power and will be known as a peacemaker because he will establish positive relations with Israel at the beginning of Daniel’s seventieth week of years. But midway through the seven years, his true nature, a servant of Satan, the beast in Revelation, will appear, he will establish a statue to himself in the temple, the “abomination that causes desolation”, to which all are required to worship. He will take vengeance on Israel and all God’s people. But at the end of the seven years Jesus will return in power and glory to redeem all His people. Those who have died will have risen and be coming with Him, and those of us left alive at that time will be transformed and meet Him in the air. All the world will mourn when they see the signs in the heavens and His coming. He will defeat Satan and cast him into the pits along with all his demons and followers. You can see all of this from the quotes of Jesus speaking to his disciples in Matthew, Paul’s description in 1st Thessalonians, and numerous passages in Revelation I have not quoted.
How long before this happens? We are told that no one knows the time or hour, even Jesus and the angels, only the Father. But we are given signs that tell us more about when to expect it. One sign was the recent solar eclipse that crossed the United States from Texas to Maine and passed near seven towns named Nineveh. I read that there was a solar eclipse in the Middle East about the time of Jonah, which would have signified a bad omen to the people at that time. So Jonah preached that Nineveh would be destroyed in 40 days and then the solar eclipse occurred. If this is what happened, I can imagine all the citizens of Nineveh repenting from the king on down as the Bible said, causing God to relent on His plan to destroy Nineveh. So if the latest solar eclipse was a sign, perhaps it was a sign to the people of the United States to repent of their evil, their ignoring God and Jesus, and following the lies of Satan given through his followers among us. The followers of Satan are well funded, so it will take prayers and a miraculous move of the Holy Spirit to cause such repentance. It could happen because God is more powerful than Satan. But in the spirit of Revelation, which tells us to have patient endurance and faithfulness, we must also be prepared to trust God totally in the goodness and love of God to see us through to the second coming of Jesus. (Don’t let any preacher, no matter how famous he or she is, tell you that you are going to be taken out before all this happens. As you can see from the passages quoted above, Scripture does not say that. Our rising in the air to meet Him occurs at the time of His return, not before.)
But now back to when this is going to happen. Here is my interpretation of the signs we are told about. Jesus said, “the sun will be dimmed and the moon will not give its light.” That sounds exactly like a solar eclipse to me. That doesn’t mean we can be sure that is what Jesus is talking about, but it does fit what he said. I checked when there would be a solar eclipse in the area of Israel. There will be one in 2027, but being only three years from now there is no time for Daniel’s seventieth week to occur. The next one will be March 20, 2034, and will cross north Africa and the Arabian peninsula with Israel in the partial eclipse, causing the sun to be darkened but not completely dark, and, since solar eclipses only occur at a new moon, the moon will not give its light. Ten years from now is a perfect time frame since it allows three years for the antichrist to appear and assume power. Some people, Dale Black included, believe he is already here and gathering his power. After the next three years there would be seven years of Daniel’s seventieth week before Jesus returns. All this understanding of what is already predicted in the heavens by scientific observation and analysis fits the scenario described in Scripture for the last days. But like I said, please do not take me to be a prophet. I am not aware of God giving me the office of a prophet. I am merely using the gifts of research and scientific analysis to understand the signs as best I can. I can’t predict the actual day or time as Scripture says, I can just tell you the scientific basis for the prophetic messages given us that tells us the short time frame in which the end is likely to occur.
A remaining factor is Jesus’ statement that the stars will fall from the sky. Perhaps that is to be meteor shower. I found the Leonid meteor shower will occur in November 2034. That is eight months after the eclipse? Can they still be connected? Will there be some other celestial event of which we are not currently aware that will explain this?
It is nice to speculate like this, but what does it mean to each of us personally. Jesus told several of the eyewitnesses to heaven described in Heaven Is Beyond Imagination to go back and tell His people what He had shown them. He said He wants them to be ready; he is coming back very soon. That is further confirmation that the time frame is short, perhaps ten years, But what does it mean to be ready? First of all I believe He wants us to know what He has prepared for our eternal relationship with Him and the Father. What we see from the comparison of all those testimonies is that God’s love for us is also beyond imagination. His love for us is far more and deeper than even Scripture tells us. If we can get more in touch with the depth of that love, it will be easier to trust Him for everything when the anti Christian government requires the mark of the beast to buy anything. You cannot take the mark of the beast (described in Revelation 13:16-17), which represents being a follower of Satan, and still be part of God’s family. Revelation tells us that plainly (Revelation 14:9-10 and Revelation 20:4). But how are we to eat if we can’t buy food, or travel if we can’t buy fuel? We will have to know God well enough to KNOW that He will provide, just as he fed the Israelites for 40 years in the desert, and fed the 5000 men plus women and children with just five loaves and two fish, and the widow at Zarephath had an endless supply of flour and oil. He is the same God then and now. However He does it, we do not need to fear and worry, as Jesus said not to worry about what we will eat or wear. Just as he closed the lions’ mouths when Daniel was thrown into the lions’ pit, and the three Hebrew boys were in the furnace were never burnt, our God is fully capable of handling any crisis Satan throws at us. Richard Sigmund once saw a large band of warrior angels marching along. He said they are huge and powerful and no demon can stand up to them. The angel with Richard told him those warrior angels are marching into his future to protect him (during his many years of ministry and healing ahead before going back to heaven permanently). Those angels will be protecting you during the days of the antichrist. Please be confident you can count on them and everything else God has prepared to see us through until we go to him or He returns. Please learn to have patient endurance and faithfulness. You will not be disappointed. Your safety and provision is not up to you, God will provide. You must know deep in your soul that in Him nothing need concern or bother you, no matter how sinister or threatening Satan becomes. Remember also that you have eternal life. They cannot kill you; they can only separate your spirit from your body, so it is free to enjoy your marvelous heavenly home forever.
