#69 Purpose of this Website

I created this website as a vehicle for sharing with interested parties what eyewitness testimonies of heaven tell us about it and how that knowledge affects our lives. All that is said here is to honor God who provided those eyewitness accounts to us and asked some of the eyewitnesses to share with us what they experienced. He wants us to know what He has prepared for our eternity with Him that shows a love for us greater than you can possibly imagine.

But recently I hired a team to improve the website. Unfortunately, someone on their staff (“admin”) submitted an entry in violation of the purpose of HeavenUnveiled.com. It does not further our understanding of heaven and, in fact, takes the view that the concept of heaven is a product of human efforts. Here is quote from that article: “The idea of Heaven has evolved and diversified throughout history, reflecting changes in religious beliefs, cultural shifts, and advancements in philosophy and science. Different religious traditions and philosophical perspectives offer a range of interpretations regarding the nature and significance of Heaven.” Furthermore, God is never mentioned nor anything attributed to him. I have asked them to remove it and refrain from ever posting something without my approval. Canceling my contract due to breach of trust may be in order also.

So if you see the post, “Heavenly Experiences in Various Contexts” before it is taken down, please note that it is a violation of the nature of this website and does not reflect the purpose of the owner.

However, if you are still here, I have something to say. It is fine to consider the philosophical or religious discussion about some topic, in this case heaven. But doing so relegates the subject of heaven to mere human ideas and opinions. It has nothing to do with reality. So this whole blog entry is communicating the belief that heaven is merely a human concept and therefore varies according to human wisdom or lack of it. As a result it does a good job of surveying the human opinions on the subject of heaven. But is heaven a reality? If it is how do we know and what can we know about it. Being of scientific mind, I am far more interested in what is real and what we can know about it than what various humans have thought over time. Jesus talked about heaven as if it is a real place. The Bible as a whole never doubts the reality of heaven. Jesus even gave some thoughts about the reality of heaven. So we can approach it as a reality rather than a figment of human imagination. So if it is indeed real, what can we know about it. Jesus claimed to have been present in the Creation and came to Earth from the Father. If he was the messiah, Emanuel, as he claimed, then he would have direct knowledge of heaven. That means from the Bible we can tell some things, but not a lot, about heaven. Fortunately in these latter days God has allowed many people to visit heaven through a temporary death experience and return to Earth. Heaven Is Beyond Imagination takes the stories of fifty such people and puts together the most complete description of heaven available to us today. So the purpose of this website is to examine the truth about heaven from these witnesses and from Scripture, not to deal with mankind’s attempts to reason philosophically about what heaven might be. We are interested in the reality of heaven and how that knowledge impacts our life here and now before we enter that realm.
