Post #59: The message I get from those who have seen heaven

In writing Heaven Is Beyond Imagination, the most pronounced message to me is seeing how much God loves us. We know from Scripture that He loves us and we know Jesus came to show us the Father and die to cleanse us from our sins and wrongs, but to see the extent He has gone “all out” to prepare for our eternal life with Him is mind-boggling. The beauty is beyond anything we have on Earth, as beautiful as Earth is. The colors are more numerous and bolder. The music is more beautiful and richer than any here with notes above and below any in the music we know. There is constant joyful praise everywhere, from people, angels, and everything there, including flowers that sing out melodies with their petals. We never have to eat but if we choose to eat, the fruit on the trees of life is juicier and more delicious than any fruit we have ever tasted. The wedding supper of the Lamb will have sumptuous food created from the light of God. No animals die in heaven and are eaten. But the food made from the light of God will taste better than anything we have ever tasted. Besides no animals dying, no plants, flowers, limbs, branches, or leaves ever die. There are fountains and parks and mountains and meadows and recreation areas to enjoy, some very different from anything here. There is no illness, imperfection, or handicap there. We will be better than we ever were in our prime. We will have amazing work to do based on our gifts and talents He gave us. There is no money. All everyone does is given to others freely at no cost out of love. God does not charge us for any of this. We don’t have to earn it. It is ALL a free gift of His love to us.

The most amazing part, though, is the spirit of love, joy, peace, forgiveness, and acceptance that pervades all of heaven. Since there is no sin there, the fruit of the spirit pervades everything. The relationships we enjoy there are the best you can imagine.  Everyone knows and loves everyone. All this is from the Father’s and the Son’s love. Heaven is fundamentally about them and their love for us. This sense of what life is really all about is the foremost sense everyone brings back. What they experienced there is what we long for here but rarely find. No one wants to leave it and come back, but obviously they did or we would never have known. However, with that experience of heaven behind them they now focus on what is really important in this life: relationships, forgiveness, generosity, pursuing eternal values rather than temporal gains. They are more appreciative of all the Father and the Son have done for us.

For me, it makes what the Bible tells me more real and intimate. When Jesus tells us not to worry about what we will eat or wear, the fact that He is providing all that and more for us in heaven tells me He has no problem taking care of my needs here. When it says not to fear those who can only kill the body, I need have no fear of death as it will be an easy transition into my joyful eternal life. I can trust Him to protect me from Satan’s more vigorous attacks to destroy me, especially in the coming end times. I praise God and thank Him and trust Him every day in ways I never did before.
