Three-year-old Colton Burpo came back from heaven saying over and over, “Jesus really loves children!” He said this so much to his parents, his dad finally said, “That is enough. We got the message. When I get to heaven I will tell Jesus that you completed your assignment thoroughly.”
Several people saw children in heaven and said they were healthy, happy, contented, playful children. Richard Sigmund said Jesus Himself came and hugged many children and told them cute little stories. There was lots of love between Jesus and the children. Richard said they were all 100 percent healthy children with rosy little cheeks, and they could run and play.
One witness saw them laughing, playing, and running around with joy, catching bright-winged birds. Another witness saw children on a hillside playing. There were all races of children, but they were all wearing the same thing, blue jumpers, or overalls, with light blue flowers on them and white short sleeve shirts.
Richard Sigmund has a whole chapter on his experience with children there. He said every child who dies goes to be with Jesus and enjoys his presence. Many times he saw the Lord draw little children to himself, hugging them and talking with them. Jesus seemed really to enjoy them being with Him. He saw children who were old enough to walk, run, and play just like children do on Earth. It was like God intended for the children to play and have a good time and just be children. They were completely content just being children. They were experiencing a perfect childhood. Everyone loves the children and the children love everyone also. Love permeates heaven.
In one of the games the children played, they would form a circle with just a few children or with many children. A child would be chosen, and he/she would float in the air, right in the middle of the circle. The other children would push him/her, giving the floating child a little shove. He/she would float back and forth. All the children, including the floating child, giggled with great glee and laughed. Richard thought it would have been a wonderful experience for him too. In another game, the children tried to see how far they could jump. Richard said they could jump a hundred or two hundred feet in the air and float down like butterflies. It was an amazing sight to him, wholly different from games on Earth. He saw children having foot races in one place. Richard was amazed that in heaven they can run faster than a horse can run on Earth. It was amazing. In another place, he saw them riding horses. The horses loved the children and loved giving the children rides. The horses had the power of thought and the power of speech, unlike horses on Earth.
The children also attended school, but Richard Sigmund was not allowed to know what they were taught, except they would learn things geniuses on Earth could not possibly know or understand. Their intelligence in heaven is far above the highest level of intelligence here. Rhoda Mitchell saw a baby boy walking around who looked like he was about four or five months old at his death, but he had full intellectual thinking capacity and was able to talk. He was a little over a foot tall, but he was able to walk. The children she saw were full of fun and had the inquisitiveness of children, but they also had the knowledge of the Kingdom packed in their little brains. She said they could have argued down Socrates on his best day. They were full of the knowledge and insight of the adults in the Kingdom. She met a six-year-old with superior intellect that still wanted to sit in her lap. Richard saw different children engaged in music, dance, art.
There are babies of all ages and sizes there. Every miscarried or aborted baby is there. The angel accompanying Mary K. Baxter took her to a hospital where a woman was having a miscarriage. The moment the miscarriage occurred the two angels that were with her caught the baby’s spirit and put it in a basket and closed the lid. They lifted their hands in praise to God and then went back through the gate into heaven with Mary and her angel following. They set the basket on the throne and bowed amid shouts of “Glory!” “Hallelujah!” and “Praise God!” Khalida Wukawitz saw children under the age of six in heaven. Some of them were the results of their mothers getting an abortion, others died of sickness or murder. All of them were at Jesus’ feet and were peaceful, healthy, and happy, not a single sad face. Marvin Besteman saw the babies grouped by ages from early fetuses, through unborn ones, newborns, small infant, on up. In heaven the unborn are living and growing apart from their mother’s womb. They were perfectly safe, entirely happy, and wholly loved. Some saw and described the nurseries for babies in heaven and how they were cared for by angels and people. Babies unwanted by their parents here on Earth are highly valued and loved in heaven. The babies that were aborted know they were aborted and wonder why their parents didn’t want them. Nevertheless they forgive their parents for ending their lives. Unfortunately this is one of the more populated areas of heaven because so many babies have been aborted in the last fifty years. Babies do not grow as fast in heaven in Earth years, so if you have lost a baby, when you get to heaven it may still be an infant and you get to raise it there.
A girl about 14 sitting on a bench came up to Matthew Payne and greeted him by name. He asked how she knows him and she said she knows his son. She said she has talked with him and played with him in his dreams. She said she told his son how Matthew was doing since he had not seen his son for years. Her words gave Matthew tears. He said heaven is like that; it fills you with tears of joy. Hearing that his son dreams about her and plays with her in his dreams was very emotional for Matthew. She then took hold of his hand and led him to her favorite place, a meadow and grassland with a fence running up a hill. She showed him some buildings and a stable, a stable for horses. She comes here and rides the horses. She has even ridden with Michael, who has a very special horse.
