Answers about Seasons and Weather in Heaven

This post is in answer to questions of a reader of the previous post. She wrote,” Are there seasons in heaven?  We are entering into autumn right now and it is my very favorite season – I love the color, the smells, the wind chasing leaves down the street. Is there weather in heaven?  Or, is it always blue sky, sunny, and 75 degrees?   Are there any cloudy days where you can find yourself mesmerized by cloud formations?”

I love those things, too, the colored leaves, the blowing leaves, the changing cloud formations. As a child I always wanted to lie on my back for along time watching the clouds change. I was always too active to do that. I also enjoyed watching ants bring out chunks of dirt and pile them on the edge of their hills. The varied shapes of their hills were always fascinating.

But heaven is not like Earth. We will not enjoy the same things there. Some will be the same, but mostly heaven is going to offer enjoyment beyond anything you could imagine here. Though there appears to be no weather there, you are going to have other new pleasures that even exceed those you enjoy here.

There is no sun in heaven. Heaven is lighted by God’s glory and never changes. Earth being lighted by the sun must rotate so the sun shines on all of it over the day and the axis of rotation is tilted 23 1/2 degrees so the sun reaches into both hemispheres at different times of the year, causing different seasons as the Earth revolves around the Sun. But the cause of seasons on Earth is not present in heaven. So heaven is always lighted and comfortable. There are no leaves blowing down the street because leaves never die and fall. One person saw big, pink-white puffy clouds and another saw what looked like clouds but they were bands of angels or people traveling the sky and singing. There is no weather in heaven as far as I can tell from the eyewitness testimonies. But the sky is colored and beautiful. Besides the various blues, there are other colors and patterns of color like the aurora. Some reported things like fireworks only more spectacular in the sky.

Here are some comments about the sky: Rebecca Springer said the sky there was a golden and rosy color everywhere, and the sky was like the afterglow of a Southern summer sunset. Marvin Besteman said the sky there was the wildest blue you could ever imagine. The atmosphere was filled with color and light and the blue was not like any tint we find on Earth. He also saw something like fireworks in the sky. He saw many shapes and formations and a huge array of colors. Occasionally there was a gigantic color-ball in motion with different shades of color going all through it. Dean Braxton said the sky is far more gorgeous than even the best sunset on Earth. It is bright because of the brightness of God and is golden, yellow, and white, with more colors going through it, resembling curtains moving in a breeze. Others saw the skies were blue, soft blue, blue-black, rosette-pinkish, soft blue with peach and gold streaks, or deep blue.

As far as the pretty leaves of fall, Willie Agnes Chennault said the trees are beautiful and the leaves are a very bright spring green. Richard Sigmund said of one tree in heaven that each leaf, each limb of the entire tree gave off a tremendous glow with all the colors that were in the glory cloud, causing the tree to glow with sound and light, aflame with glory. The flame started in the root and went all the way up the tree and out through the branches to the chandelier-like leaves. The tree exploded in a beautiful lighted cloud of glory and an unbelievably beautiful sound. He also saw trees whose leaves were shaped like hearts and gave off a beautiful aroma. He was told to take a leaf and smell it. When he did, the moment he smelled the beautiful fragrance, he was strengthened.

So while you won’t have spring or fall in heaven, sunrises or sunsets, or weather, what you will enjoy surpasses all that is on Earth. You are not going to be disappointed!
