Heavenly Music

Heaven is filled with beautiful music. All music in heaven is praise to the Father and the Son. The angels sing and sometimes choirs are formed of both angels and humans. Choirs of a thousand voices are not uncommon. And with the perfect voices and the wide range of frequencies, the music is wonderful.

Mary K. Baxter said heaven is “saturated with beautiful music.” It is the result of joy and expresses the happiness and joy of heaven. She heard choirs and ensembles, whose splendor and beauty cannot be compared with anything on Earth. It is a fantastic symphony.

Don Piper said more than just hearing the music, he became part of it, and it played in and through his body as if the sounds were embracing him. The joyous sounds and melodies so permeated every part of his being that he found it impossible to be distracted. Yet at the same time, he could focus on everything around him. Our mental capacities and our attention spans are apparently greatly enhanced in heaven.

The music is his single most vivid memory of his entire heavenly experience. It is different from any music on Earth with its melodies of praise, nonstop intensity, and endless variety. The praise expressed in these songs was unending, but the most remarkable thing he experienced was that hundreds of songs of worship of God were being sung at the same time. He heard them from every direction and knew that each voice and instrument praised God. Musical praise, comprised of melodies and tones he had never experienced before, was everywhere. The music rang out with words such as “Hallelujah,” “Praise,” “Glory to God,” and “Praise to the King,” in the midst of all the music. He was awestruck and caught up in the heavenly mood. He experienced the deepest joy of his life. Even though he wasn’t a participant in the worship, his heart rang out with joy and exuberance.

Dr. Kolbaba tells the story of a man who experienced rapid bleeding from a failed suture from a minor surgery and was rushed to the hospital emergency department. When he arrived his face looked like a ghost and he had no pulse, no blood pressure, and was completely unresponsive. Furthermore, he had been gone for twenty minutes. After CPR, several pints of blood, and surgery, he suddenly had a faint pulse. His eye flickered and at first he couldn’t talk. But soon he said, “You guys have beautiful music here. I want to hear it again. Can you get me back to that room where they play the music? It was so peaceful.” He described a beautiful white room where there was quiet music from unfamiliar instruments. He clearly had been to some part of heaven but thought it had been in the hospital.

Richard Sigmund reported that he could hear and understand songs in many different languages.

Richard Eby described the music as more beautiful and melodious than any on Earth.

Rhoda Mitchell said the music in heaven was incredible! It was a wonderful expression of praise to the Father. The music had great diversity, and the intriguing melodies and their magnetic refrains played over and over in her spirit. The words of the songs were clear and meaningful. They spoke of honor, covenant, majesty, goodness, mercy, and truth. Although people sang, shouted, and talked with their voices, they often communicated non-verbally with just thought.

Several people reported that they were able to sing beautifully when they were never able to on Earth. One woman said she had a low boy’s voice, but in heaven she was able to sing in a high soprano voice. If you have trouble carrying a tune here, don’t fret. There you will be able to sing every note perfectly. Furthermore, it was reported that people can both sing and hear a broader range of frequencies than is possible here.

There are musical instruments also.  Richard Sigmund saw a boy playing both a piano and a harp. He also saw Johann Sebastian Bach performing on a huge organ. It had notes above and below organs on Earth. Richard was able to hear all of the high and low notes. The choirs of heaven accompanied his playing in praise and worship. Everyone joined in with glorious musical praise.

The music in heaven is wonderful beyond any music you have heard here.
